Why a Clinic?

At Boola Bos, we believe writers are like elite athletes: brimming with raw talent, grit, and ambition. But even the most promising athletes need training, support, and strategy to perform at their peak.

Just like an athlete would visit a sports medicine clinic to overcome challenges and unlock their potential, Writer’s Clinic helps you diagnose what’s slowing you down and provides a plan to help you finish your manuscript.

This isn’t about fixing you—because you’re not the problem. It’s about helping you navigate the realities of life while creating a writing system that allows you to finally get that manuscript finished so you can start querying agents.

And yes, you can learn how in just 60 minutes!

Our proven step-by-step process works like this:

  • We conduct a comprehensive exam—Together we define your desired outcome, assess your actual symptoms (instead of relying on generalities), and form a hypothesis about what’s truly holding you back.
  • We run targeted tests—We guide you through a diagnostic process to test our hypothesis. There’s no point in treating something you’re not actually experiencing—but that’s a common mistake, and it may be why past attempts to “fix the problem” haven’t worked.
  • We create a personalized treatment plan—Your plan will be both comprehensive and practical, designed to work with your reality, not against it. With built-in accountability, you’ll have the tools to move forward, finish your manuscript, and confidently query literary agents.

Boola Bos’s proven process is why so many of our clients have experienced a major unlock within days—finally putting their hard work, innate writing ability, and hard-won skill to use to finish the manuscripts that had been troubling them for so long.

Doors to Writer’s Clinic close in a few days.

Who Are We?

Bronwen Keyes-Bevan and Kolina Cicero are the co-founders of Boola Bos. As writers and mothers, they know how hard it is to juggle writing with the demands of everyday life. They built Boola Bos to create the training and support system they wished they had—because every writer deserves to be cheered on, celebrated, and given the tools to succeed.

Bronwen Keyes-Bevan is a Toronto-based writer and entrepreneur.

Prior to launching Boola Bos, Bronwen was newsletter editor at The Shit No One Tells You About Writing, a podcast with over three million downloads that is aimed at emerging writers. As editor, Bronwen founded the brand’s newsletter, interviewed dozens of bestselling authors and publishing industry experts, and oversaw all editorial aspects of the newsletter.

She has a degree in filmmaking and a post-grad in screenwriting. Like most writers she has done all sorts of jobs: she taught filmmaking at University of Toronto's Hart House, was assistant to the Emmy Award-winning filmaker Patricia Rozema, and has written about books and films for newspapers and magazines across Canada. She was also a nanny for almost ten years which was her favorite job because kids are better than adults in her humble opinion.

She is at work on her debut novel, a project which has been supported by the Toronto Arts Council and which landed her a spot in Diaspora Dialogues' mentorship program.

She lives in Toronto with her husband, their son, and her mom.

A writer of fiction who is interested in how absence shapes our lives, Kolina’s work uncovers meaning from loss, abandonment, and disappearance. She is the author of the children’s book Rosie and the Hobby Farm, a judge for NYC Midnight’s short fiction challenges, a freelance writer, grant writer, and an active member of a fiction writing workshop since 2018.

Kolina has an undergraduate degree in journalism and mass communications with a minor in Italian studies, and a graduate degree in Italian studies from Middlebury College. It's not the most useful degree in the world but she had a great time living in Italy for a year and has no regrets.

She writes a weekly Substack newsletter about books called Words on Words and lives in Minneapolis with her husband, two kids, and two cats.
